Forest Retreat
Harveys Lake, Pennsylvania
Situated in a forest adjacent to a sprawling family farm on a hill in northeastern Pennsylvania, this long-dreamed-of home for a family of five is a hub for a life spent as much outdoors as in. The landscape features an abandoned, gently curving and elevated railroad bed, a meandering stream, distinct deciduous and evergreen spaces, and hiking paths. Our design takes direction from these physical assets to create an environment that maintains strong connections to the land, trees, sun, water, and views.
Forest Retreat has received an Honor Award for design excellence from the Eastern Pennsylvania chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
